La Plata Social Club Gain A 5 Star Air Quality Rating By Installing Covid Purification and Sanitisation Units For Their Members
La Plata Social Club in Sheffield were the very first Club to have three Pure Air Systems installed in their Main Bar Area and Club Lounge in South York. A C.I.U Club that has been established for many years now and ran by Brian Helliwell the Club Secretary and his Committee
The Challenge
In response to the Covid 19 this year Amy at Smart Energy Projects contacted Brian to advise on the potential risks to his staff and members when heating certain areas with a mix of both Air-Conditioning and Gas Fired Heating. The World Health Organisation announced on July 9th that the Corona Virus can now be transmitted through the air and the virus particulates will remain infectious for up to 6 hours in a room area if somebody is positive for the virus.
Brian was concerned for his Committee and Members as relies on air-conditioning to heat his bar area and understood that these units will only ever continue to re-circulate the air within the room posing a greater risk to his members when socialising.
Brian new that the Club needed a quick solution to this problem to help provide protection and assurance to both staff and members who mainly are over 70 years of age and vulnerable due to having other respiratory health conditions.
The Club needed systems to kill the virus in the air and on all surface areas as Brian stated that it was incredibly difficult to maintain social distancing whilst constantly cleaning surface areas 24/7 which isn’t practically possible at all times and his Committee were worried that their air-conditioning units when being used to heat would cause an even bigger problem as they couldn’t continue to leave all their windows open in the Winter.
The Solution
Three Pure Air Systems were installed into the Bar and Lounge Area of the Club which were installed in just a morning and will now provide the Club with Pure Air and Sanitisation of all surface areas 24/7. Costing a total of just £76 per year to run all three systems and to provide pure clean air to the Club Rooms eliminating all known viruses by up to 99%+ these were a no brainer and a life line to the Club who wished to continue to provide safe Covid Safe Areas for Members to socialise amongst each other whilst having a drink or playing the odd occasional Bingo.
The Club now do not need to keep windows open when it’s freezing outside and can use their Air-Conditioning safely without any potential risks of re-circulating the virus to other members. The systems will also provide a saving to the Club of £800 each year and reduce all heating costs by 20%. With this year being tougher than ever for the Hospitality Sectors saving additional money on heating and cooling bills have been welcomed by Club Committees as well as providing rooms which are safe.
