Taylors Transport Now Saving Thousand’s Of Pounds On Their R22 Air Conditioning Replacements Throughout Their Office Areas
Taylors Transport Air-Conditioning Installation In Huthwaite Nottinghamshire
The Huthwaite Nottinghamshire Headquarters of Taylor’s Transport Group benefited by replacing obsolete and unreliable split systems and switching to latest technology from Daikin’s Split and Sky Air Systems.
Founded by Barry Taylor almost 40 years ago, Taylor’s now has a fleet of more than 200 vehicles – ranging from articulated lorries down to delivery vans. It is regarded as the biggest privately owned goods transport fleet in the Midlands.
Son Alan Taylor, the Managing Director, stated the company moved into the head office complex in 2015. The site includes the three storey office building– for a staff of about 50 in management offices and the all-important operations room. There is an adjoining warehousing and the in-house driver training school.
Smart Energy Projects were appointed to service and look after the existing air conditioning units, which provided cooling in hot weather and were also the primary source of heating in the cooler months.
After a few years of maintaining all their Systems Smart Energy upgraded the majority of their units after Phil carried out a full energy efficiency survey to then install Daikin’s state-of-the-art R32 Bluevolution technology, each system is managed via Daikin’s elegant Madoka controllers. As these wall-mounted, wired units are smaller than the units they replaced, they have been installed with matching shrouds which hide any unsightly surface imperfections.
Alan goes on to state, “By accepting Amy’s advice with regards to dramatically lowering the running costs of our old R22 Systems and replacing the units with the new energy efficient R32 refrigerant, we were able to submit an application for a low-carbon grant, which substantially reduced the overall cost by 40% forour Company and we were delighted that we were able to meet the threshold for the carbon reduction saving’s in order to be awarded with the funding. Now, with the improved efficiency of Daikin’s systems, we are confident that Taylor’s will also see savings on operating costs. The new systems are fantastic. The installation was completed in the early days of the coronavirus lockdown, so staff members who had to come into the office during the pandemic were able to enjoy new levels of comfort. This was especially valuable when outside temperatures soared.”(Alan Taylor MD April 2020)
